Hair Donations

With the help of several organizations the House of Miss Rose is getting ready to become mechanized and will soon have the equipment to manufacture wigs and hair systems at a higher volume than we have in the past. We are hoping that this will help us keep up with the demand for our specialized approach to helping those in need.

With care and compassion our experts walk the recipient and their family through the process of selecting a wig or hair loss solution that meets their needs. It takes the 10 to 12 donated ponytails to make one wig or hair prosthesis, we welcome donations of hair and time and talent so that the necessary resources are available to provide survivors with this much needed service.

Every year thousands of people in Canada will lose their hair du to conditions such as cancer treatments, alopecia and burns. We believe that providing a hair loss solution will increase self esteem and self image, helping them feel more like themselves again. We know that they will face each new day with a greater confidence.

Wigs We received a package of hair with the following letter;
Hi, my name is Marshall. I just graduated grade 12 and have been accepted into UBC's engineering program. As you can see by the picture I've enclosed, my hair was very long and I decided I needed a change. I would like to donate my hair so that it can go towards the making of a wig. It has never been dyed or fussed with. On June 03/08 I washed it in the morning and had it cut that afternoon, so it's clean and ready to go. I'm hoping that my ponytail will help someone in need. Thanks!
